Real Weddings: Megan and Paul

Megan and Paul had a beautiful winter wedding on December 17, 2011.  Their ceremony was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lake Orion, followed by lots of partying at the Lafayette Grande in Pontiac.  Check out the fun trailer from 5th and Main Productions!

Real Weddings: Vanisha & Rajan

Can we say GORGEOUS??  Not only are the bride and groom beautiful, the room decor was over the top!  Le Reve Creations , out of Virginia, drove in with truck loads of goodies to help transform the ballroom of the Marriott Renaissance Center into a spectacular event.

We provided our Signature Flourish Coordination services throughout the weekend helping with everything from guest experience, set-up, logistics and timing (and of course, everything else that happened throughout the weekend!).  We had a blast working with all of the vendors, but especially Fauzeen and Ali from The Q Studio!  Not only did they provide all of the photography, they also had their video team on hand.  (We posted their same day edit film here).

400+ guests, 3 events + one crazy weekend = so much fun!!

Real Weddings: Ashleigh & Brent

Ashleigh and Brent were married on October 1, 2011 at Plymouth Manor.  Ashleigh actually works in the wedding industry so it was an honor to be part of her big day!  (She works for the oh-so-fun Shutterbooth!)

If you know Ashleigh at all, you’d know that she’s a bit crazy, loads of fun and loves things that are slightly out of the norm. Her bouquet was so fun to create!  We used white football mums, white snapdragons, red dahlias, stephanotis and lots of feathers and crystals.  Her centerpieces were just as unique and fun!  Using faux manzanita branches, we strung crystals and white buttons and hand wired white dahlias from the all branches.  Affordable Elegance Chair Covers and Linens did quite the number on the room with the sweet table linen and chairs.  If you look closely, each table not only had a full length satin cloth, there were also 2 different colored table runners through the center + coordinating 2-color sashes on each chiavari chair.  Pair amazing linen, cool flowers and awesome lighting…  you get a totally transformed room!

Real Weddings: Karen & Ion

Karen and Ion were married at the very cool Coach Insignia restaurant in Detroit.  Coach sits at the  very top of the Renaissance Center and gives you a 360 degree view of the city (and Canada!).  It’s a perfect location for couples looking to really show off the city!!

We provided all of the bouquets and boutonnieres for this rich and colorful fall event.  Karen’s bouquet was designed with gerbera daisies, asiatic lilies, alstromeria and mokara orchids.

Real Weddings: Kendall and John

I’m not really even sure where to begin with this wedding….  not only did we have the dream team of vendors, we were fortunate enough to have the dream team of families!  We often become very close with our full service planning and design clients, but I’ve never experienced a relationship like this one.  I feel like we literally became an extension of Kendall and Johns family.  It was such a sad day when it was all over.

Remember Kendall and Johns engagement session from Jess & Nate Studios, or maybe Kendall’s bridal shower?  You definitely remember the awesome same day edit from Epic Motion, right?

Well, we’re back with the stunning images from their wedding day, from none other than Jess & Nate.  I could write about how much fun we had planning their day, or how amazing it was to design every single little detail you’ll see below…  but I think the photos share their story better than I ever could with words.

This wedding was also featured on Style Me Pretty over the weekend…  be sure to check out more photos and details here!

Real Weddings: Jen and Rob

This photo shows exactly what kind of wedding Jen and Rob wanted.  Fun.  Unique.  Memorable.  And just plain awesome.

We worked with Jen for nearly a year planning every detail, from the big picture ideas down to the little fun details.  The 71′ Charger shown above was Jen’s surprise to Rob on the morning of the wedding.  Rob has always wanted to own a classic Charger, so he was pretty excited when this (rental) pulled into the parking lot of The Royal Park Hotel. Well, excited would be putting it lightly.  I’ve never seen a groom more excited (outside of seeing his bride walk down the aisle!).

In addition to the car, Jen and Rob’s wedding was literally full of amazing details.  Check out the photos below from one of our favorite photography teams, Kara Purtell Photography.

I’m in love with these images.  I’m in love with the attention to detail that went into this amazing event.  There wasn’t a single area of Meadow Brook Hall that wasn’t thought of and accounted for.  For the bouquets, we used a variety of flowers: dahlias, hydrangea, scabosia pods, eucalyptus, craspedia, ranunculus and of course, tons and tons of various types of succulents. We used a similar combination of floral elements and added in various shapes and sizes of silver mercury glass.  The mahogany dining tables paired with a classic mahogany chiavari chair and simple floral arrangements really helped created a warm, inviting feel as guests walked into the tent.  Working with the great teams at Affordable Elegance Chair Covers and LinenSpecial Events Rental and of course our amazing floral team, the decor and details were seamless.

All of the vendors on this event were pretty amazing…  we had The Dan Rafferty Band keeping the party alive until the very last second of the night, Epic Motion was on hand to capture all the awesomeness on film and of course, Kara and Darrel from Kara Purtell Photography.  And we can’t forget the staff from Meadow Brook Hall – they were awesome to work with throughout the planning process as well as on the actual wedding day.

Stayed tuned for the video from Epic Motion!

Real Weddings: Alicia and Greg

How much fun would it be to get married at the place where you met, dated, fell in love and eventually called your alma mater?  Alicia and Greg did just that!  Michigan State University held a special place in their hearts so it was an easy decision to choose the MSU Stadium for their reception and the Alumni Chapel for their ceremony.

We started working with Alicia in March of 2010 so we had lots of time to make all the details perfect.  Flourish provided full-service wedding planning along with all of the floral and decor.  Alicia wanted the look to be fresh and fun, but also didn’t want there to be too much green and white.  We decided on using whites and greens as the primary colors, but added in pretty navy blue to keep everything grounded and not too Sparty!

Kate, from Custom Paper Works, designed all of the stationery and printed accessories, Mike Staff Productions and Shutter Booth kept the party going all night long and Kara & Darrel from Kara Purtell Photography captured the entire night on camera.

Enjoy a (large!) selection of our favorite images from the day!

Real Weddings: Kendall and John

Remember the super fun modern grunge photoshoot with did with Kendall and John?  Well, Epic Motion is back with another awesome film…  this time from the cute couples actual wedding day!  No more photoshoots, this gorgeousness is the real deal!

We can’t wait to share the pictures from Jess & Nate Studios too – they are going to knock your socks off!

Real Weddings: Joanna and Elias

Ah, so in love.  Harold, from Berkshire Studios, did such a fabulous job capturing the sprit of these two.  Looking through the short collection of photos above I can’t help but think about love and how awesome it is when you find the one.

This wedding marked the beginning of the 2011 wedding season for Flourish.  We celebrated with Joanna and Elias on March 5 at Holy Name Church in Birmingham and the Marriott in Troy.  We worked with them for over a year helping plan each element of their big day, from creating custom invitations to selecting the right dress to finalizing the dinner menu.   We literally were able to share in the all fun, overwhelming and exciting moments – and we loved each step of the way!

Neither the bride nor groom were originally from the US, so we wanted to make sure that we included a few traditional elements from each of their backgrounds.  Joanna’s family, who all flew in from Brazil, brought with them traditional wedding reception ‘extras’.  Feather boas, hilarious plastic sunglasses, light-up jelly rings and paper bowties are just a few of the items that had guests cracking up and dressing up on the dance floor.  I’ve never, ever seen a group of grown-up (no kids here!) have more fun with silly plastic toys!  If this small piece that we incorporated is any indication of what parties are like in Brazil, I think I might consider branching out and offer our services over there!

Jamie from 3rd Street Films was also on hand for the fun – I can’t wait to see what he comes up with… I’m hopefully that it’ll give you a glimpse into how much fun this group really did have!

Lovelies from Lindsey…

Isn’t she gorgeous?!!

A few weeks ago I partnered with Stacy from The Gown Shop and Andy and Lynn from West Park Photography to style a photoshoot that showcased some of our floral designs.  Do you recognize the model?  It’s our very own Melissa!

We hope that the bright, spring colors in each of the bouquets leaves you with something to smile about today…

Enjoy all that is lovely.
